I am pursuing my MS degree in Direct and Interactive Marketing and am working on my thesis
I am proposing that Social Marketing will be the new face of Direct marketing in the coming years. Rising postal rates, constrained budgets, increased ROI expectations, changing consumer beahviour and purchase behaviour, community marketing and the demand for more interactive mediums. It's all just paving the way for social media to take over.
- Do you think social media can match the interactivity, measurability and targetability issue better than traditional direct marketing?
- Do you see any holes in this theory or where excatly do you see social media heading?
- How about social media and metrics? Is that clearly defined?
- Is social media more superior in capturing leads and prospect conversions?
- E-commerce demands a medium that is equally emerging and meaurable. Does social media close this loop?
Your comments most welcome and appreciated.
Many thanks,
Jagruti
